The Versace Mansion, also known as Casa Casuarina, is luxurious in Miami Beach, Florida, formerly owned by the famous Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace. The mansion is a stunning example of Mediterranean Revival architecture, with an impressive 23,000 square feet of living space spread across three floors.
The History and Architecture of the Versace Mansion in Miami Beach
The mansion was originally built in 1930 by architect Alden Freeman and was later purchased by Gianni Versace in 1992. Versace made extensive renovations to the property, adding a 6,100-square-foot south wing, a pool, and a pool house. There is an elaborate mosaic garden featuring thousands of tiles imported from Italy.
This 3 story Spanish-style mansion, built in 1930, is known as a playground for some of the world’s best-known celebrities. It was renovated to the 9’s by Gianni Versace himself in 1992, just 5 years before his shocking murder from the front steps of his morning walk home.

The mansion’s interior is just as impressive as its exterior, featuring ornate Italian marble floors, intricately hand-painted ceilings, and an impressive collection of art and antiques worldwide. I find it most impressive. The 10 opulent guest rooms are each individually decorated and feature luxurious amenities. Amenities include king-sized beds, Egyptian cotton linens, and luxurious marble bathrooms.

The Versace Mansion was also the site of several infamous events, including the murder of Gianni Versace on the front steps of the property in 1997. This Miami mansion has since been sold several times and has undergone extensive renovations to restore it to its former glory.
